More Than a Mom~ Erlyssa

Why I am more than a mom.... I would say that I am more than a mom because I am still me. At the end of the day and all of the running around that I do with my three children, I still want to enjoy myself as an adult and be successful.  know eventually my kids will grow up (faster than I would like) and move on with their lives. I work full time, and am currently less than a week our from graduating with my Bachelor's degree in accounting I still try to keep myself up and continue to do the things that I enjoy at the same time as making sure my children are doing what they want to do, successful. I feel like I lost sight of myself for a while because I have been so consumed with everything involving kids. I decided that I was going to go ahead and finish school because I want a successful career and successful me as well!

Turns out, he did still love me but I wasn’t me anymore. I had poured all of myself into being a mom after our youngest child’s Autism diagnosis. I could no longer think of the last time I did anything that didn’t involve the kids in some way. So, how do I get back to me? Who was/am I? I am more than a thirty four year old mom of three great kids. I am an athlete and I love the outdoors so I started running and hiking again. I am a great friend so I’m making an effort to hang out more. I am an artist; I am taking time to create again. I am a hard worker and I love my job, coworkers and the patients I serve. Most importantly, I am still my husbands smoking hot, sexy, spontaneous, free spirited soul mate. I am so sorry I lost sight of that. I still love him dearly. Lindsay Highhouse

I am recently engaged to my high school sweet heart Drew. We are eager to encounter all of the beautiful things life has to offer our wonderful little family.  I enjoy crafting, cooking and baking. As a family we enjoy hiking camping and going to music festivals. I am passionate advocate for breastfeeding and living a holistic as possible. Being a mother is a large portion of what makes me who I am. Our son is our world.   Honesty, some days I am not sure what makes me more than a mom. My days are often consumed with picking up toys, cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking and changing diapers. I strive on a daily basis to be the best mother I can be for my son. It's truly amazing to me how someone so small can change life so drastically for the better. There are times that I have to take t

Matt and I's love story almost didn't happen. I was 21 when I first met Matt. We met on the dating app plenty of fish. I saw his profile first and messaged him. He took like a week to respond. I later found out that it took that long because he thought I would be a "wild child" when he saw the pictures of my tattoos. After texting for a while we decided to meet in person. I was so nervous I made my friend go with me. The whole time at Tim Hortons I barely spoke a word to Matt. Our relationship started out like an awkward middle school relationship even though we were in our 20s. We did group dates and texted more than we spoke in perso
